The Angels
Meditations on the Seven Angels of Revelation
The music in this CD has been composed as a series of meditations on the seven angels described in chapters two and three of the book of Revelation. Inspired by the stained glass windows created by the Louis C. Tiffany Studios in New York during the late 1800's For a New Church in Cincinnati, each meditation portrays one of the angels.
Each angel can represent a type of person, or on another level, a stage of growth in any person's faith journey. Swedenborg wrote that all people, of all religions, or even of no particular tradition, when they live a good life, the best they know how, they are on a journey of regeneration and eternal life in heaven. In these explanations of the meaning of the churches all references to ‘the Lord' and ‘doctrine' can be read as whatever higher power or moral teachings that each person understands.
There are seven angels and seven windows. There are also seven tones in the maior scale and seven modes based on those tones.
